Our June bookclub will be on Monday July 20 at 6:00 at the club. We are reading a Japanese novel called “Butter” by Asako Yuzuki. This story is inspired by a real-life serial murder case in Japan. It follows a Tokyo journalist who starts interviewing a woman accused of tricking and possibly killing men by seducing them with her cooking.
Butter is not a murder mystery or crime novel. . .The story is ultimately about exploration of misogyny, obsession, romance, friendship, self-growth and liberation.
